The exhibition and catalogue highlighted the work and experiences of a coherent and articulate group of Chinese artists - the so-called 'Hubei School' - in comparison with similar experiences from contemporary Italian art.
The two curators Ji Shaofeng and Alessandro Riva highlight the thin thread existing between Chinese artists from Hubei Province and Italian artists.
The Chinese artists narrate their art between the avant-garde and tradition, traditional techniques and strongly contemporary interpretations, while the Italian artists recover the traditional techniques of painting and sculpture, as well as photography and video treated with a classical imprint.
