Makos is known for his close relationship with Andy Warhol whom he met in 1976 - he introduced Warhol to the work of both Jean-Michel Basquiat and Keith Haring and taught Warhol how to use his first camera. The Altered Images exhibit started in Milan, and then continued in New York, London, Paris, Tokyo, Seoul, Hong Kong and Shanghai. This dress is printed with an image of Andy Warhol dressed and made up as a woman. It is styled as a short sleeved mini-dress with a simple line. The dress is made of black polyester with a silk panel on the front, which is printed in colour, while the right side of the image is printed in black and white on the polyester fabric. It has a white cotton panel that emanates down from the front bottom of the dress. The back of the dress has a double zipper closure. Shoulders: 20” across shoulder/sleeve seam to shoulder/sleeve seam Bust: 44” around, taken under the arms Bottom: 38” around Overall length: 33 1/2”, measured flat to the bottom of the white cotton. This dress features a wonderful image by an important photographer of one of the most influential artists of the 20th century.
