Restauro dell'Atrio e della Porta Santa 1999 La medaglia celebra i lavori di restauro dell'Atrio del Maderno e della Porta Santa realizzati in occasione del Giubileo del 2000 antistanti la Basilica di San Pietro in Vaticano. Disegnata dall'Arch. Antonio Sperandio raffigura il Santo Padre Giovanni Paolo II nel suo 21° anno di Pontificato da un lato e l'Atrio del Maderno dall'altro. This is the official medal commemorating the completion of the restoration of the Maderno Atrium in St. Peter's Basillia, Rome, a Jubilee Year 2000 gift to the Universal Church and to His Holiness Pope John Paul ll by the Knights of Columbus, Virgil C. Dechant, Supreme Knight, in collaboration with the Reverenda Fabbrica di San Pietro, His Eminence Virgillo Cardinal Noe, president. Stuck 1999 Medal in Gilded Bronze Certificate of Registration. numero 1089/1500. The above is what is on the front of the paper certificate that comes with the medal and case. It also has, On the Face: Portrait of His Holiness Pope John Paul ll, now in the 21st year of his pontificate. On the Edge: O.M.E.A., the number of the medal. On the obverse: A depiction of the Atrium in St. Peter's Basilica, along with the text of the marble tablet placed within the Atrium commemorating the Order's participation in this restoration.
