Trading card number 34, an original from 1935, ECKSTEIN-HALPAUS Edition (Dresden). Severe coal shortage, October 1920. In July 1920, at Spa, the Entente had demanded approximately half of Germany's coal output, eventually agreeing on a monthly supply of 2 million tons; however, deliveries came to a halt the following October. On October 25, all power plants in the Rhineland suspended operations due to the lack of coal. A snapshot of the era: the impoverished population would painstakingly gather fuel scraps from the refuse. When you bought a pack of cigarettes, you received a card; the idea was to collect all the cards and place them in an album (which could be purchased at the time from a tobacconist for 1 RM). This was a familiar phenomenon, and collecting these cards was a favorite pastime of the era. Item condition as shown in the photos.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show (25th Anniversary Edition) - The story centres on a young engaged couple whose car breaks down in the rain near a castle where they seek a telephone to call for help. The castle is occupied by strangers in elaborate costumes celebrating an annual convention. They discover the head of the house is Frank N. Published in 1911, Suffragette Sally is one of the best-known popular novels promoting the cause of women's suffrage in Britain at the beginning of the twentieth century. The novel details the militant campaign of the suffragist Women's Social and Political Union against the political establishment of the time. Through its three female protagonists, each from a different class, the novel recounts the challenges faced by women who dared to flout social convention by agitating for the vote. The Sally of the title is Sally Simmonds, a maid-of-all-work in a household where she has to deal with her employer's advances along with her daily tasks. The novel follows Sally's conversion to the suffrage movement and details the consequences she must face as a working-class woman who risks her job, her relationships, and eventually her life for the cause.
The novel weaves together the fictional stories of the three main characters with documentary material drawn from contemporary suffrage and mainstream newspapers, and raises the hope that female alliances might someday transcend class boundaries.
